| As others have stated fallback to open drivers works only after reconfigure X option, and reinstallation of proprietary driver fails regardless.

| Fallback to open drivers works only after reconfigure X option. But reinstallation of proprietary driver doesn't work anyway. The Driver cannot be reinstalled unless the *.ko modules is manually replaced.

| Uninstalling nvidia-current with Synaptic and installing it again worked.

| The system goes in low graphics mode no matter if I try to restore or rebuild configuration. The Driver cannot be reinstalled unless the *.ko modules is manually replaced.

| Seems to fallback to vga16fb? Dunno how to tell, just ran lsmod. Activating Nouveu in jockey makes the screen turn black, system seems to be up and running otherwise (Ctrl+Alt+Delete -> Enter turns system off).

| This is unbelievably difficult to accomplish. The boxes uses are difficult to understand and easy to make mistakes in. First you get a screen that tells you you are low-graphics mode. Then you click on restore graphics mode, then you click on another restore mode box. Then you have to cancel or it undoes what you just did. Then tell it okay or cancel again. Then you get a tty and can use Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart the system. It then comes up in the right mode.
