 | rrrrube | 2011-04-02 22:00 | | xrandr did change the screen resolution, but it didn't always redraw the screen properly. I had to grab the top of the window with the mouse and move it around and this fixed it.
With the Nvidia GUI tool, the same thing happened where the screen didn't properly redraw at first. However the Nvidia tool would pop up a message asking if you wanted to accept the new setting or it would revert to the default in 15 seconds. Generally, when I clicked to accept the new settings the screen would redraw properly.
